Login FAQs
What's the difference between a member's account and a contributor's account?
A member's account allows you to view the member-only content of the website, while a contributor's account allows you to contribute to the website (specifically, member pages and Solilowiki).
If you're a member of the SIG, you automatically have a member's account (see the Q&A below for how to log into this account). You don't automatically have a contributor's account but can create one if you'd like to create a member's page or contribute to the wiki. To log into your contributor's account, you must first log into your member's account.
What is the user name and password for my member's account?
The user name and password for your member's account on this site should be identical to those you use to log into the STC website. In most situations, the user name is the same as your numerical member ID. However, for newer users or for users who have changed their user names in the member profile section of the STC website, the user name may not be the same as the numerical member ID.
I can't log into my member's account using my STC user name and password. Why is this?
There are several possible reasons for this, including the following:
- If you've recently joined the SIG, it may take some time for the STC head office to update the membership database.
- If you've accidentally attempted to log in using an incorrect password, the STC server may lock you out of both this site and the STC website.
If the problem persists, report it to the STC head office.
I've recently joined the SIG or am having login problems. Is there a visitor's account I can use?
