Connect with the STC Lone Writer SIG
| 06 February 2010 |
The STC Lone Writer SIG works to provide an avenue of professional education and support to writers who are the sole technical writer for their organization. To this end, we’ve developed several different channels that lone writers can use to connect, share ideas, and support each other.
The most popular of these channels are our main and off-topic mailing lists. Every day, lone writers across the globe ask questions, give advice and share insights through these lists, which have become invaluable lifelines for many of our members. To learn more about the mailing lists, see the Main Mailing List and Off-Topic Mailing List pages on our website (STC user name and password required).
In addition to the mailing lists, we introduced a Twitter feed and LinkedIn group last year. Combined with our newsletter-turned-blog, Solitary Scrivener, these channels help establish a lone writer presence in the ever evolving world of Web 2.0.
Last but not least, you can check out the member-only services on our website, including member pages and Solilowiki.
The new lone writer toolbar is a useful way to access all of these channels. You can download the toolbar from the Gear page of our website (STC user name and password required).
